The First Deputy Chairperson of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Vitale Zalecki, presented an overview of the first stage of the joint laboratory under the "Road and Belt" initiative at Chunsky, according to BelTA.

A key topic was questions regarding the development of high-tech dual-bilateral partnerships. Both parties provided detailed roadmaps of the project and conditions for submitting proposals to a profile competition.

From the Belarusian side, the project includes participation from the Physics-Technical Institute, the Combined Institute of Machine Building, the Institute of New Materials and Nuclear Power Engineering, and from China—Harbin Polytechnic University, the Chunsky scientific-research institute, and Chihua "Czidzyan."

The main goal of the future laboratory is innovative development for machine building and the aviation sector. Students plan to focus on improving resource utilization and competitiveness of complex equipment: from pump equipment to reducers and energy conversion systems.

"Participants confirmed that in both directions there are all necessary resources for realizing projects in these fields, including scientific and personnel resources. In the near term, a package of necessary documents for participation in the 'Road and Belt' joint laboratory creation will be prepared. This will be an important step in deepening scientific-technological cooperation between Belarus and China," noted the press service.

Representatives from key state, scientific, and industrial structures attended the meeting—the Department of Science and Technology of Chunsky, the Chunsky machine-building-electrotechnical holding company "Czidzyan" (group of companies), the Chunsky scientific-research institute of Harbin Polytechnic University, and the laboratories of the Electromechanical Engineering Institute of Harbin Polytechnic University.
