Real wages in Belarus grew by 7.5% in January-June 2026 compared to the same period last year, the press service of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus told a BELTA correspondent.

At the FTUB, the progress of the implementation of the general agreement between the government, trade union associations and employers' associations for 2025-2027 was discussed. The document defines the obligations of social partnership parties on employment, remuneration, social protection and provision of socio-economic guarantees to workers.

Following the first half-year results, positive dynamics are noted in key indicators. Specifically, real disposable monetary incomes of the population amounted to 108% of the January-June 2025 level. This indicator doubled the planned target for the first half of the year.

Wage growth continued in organizations where the level of pay had previously been relatively low. Compared to the beginning of the year, the number of organizations where wages constitute less than 150% of the minimum wage decreased almost threefold. Positive dynamics are also noted in the public sector. In June, the ratio of wages of public sector workers to the national average exceeded 81%.

The labor market situation has improved. The unemployment rate among the working-age population decreased to a record low of 2.2%. At the same time, losses of working time decreased compared to the same period in 2025, and the number of workers on forced part-time employment decreased by 5.9%.

Trade unions pay special attention to the timeliness of wage payments. Constant monitoring of employers' compliance with established deadlines for settlements with workers is being carried out.

However, over seven months, trade unions identified about 220 cases of employers violating established deadlines for wage payments and other sums due to workers. Most of these violations occurred in organizations of the agro-industrial complex and construction sector.

For each identified case, trade unions take necessary measures for prompt elimination of violations and ensuring timely settlement with workers.
