The prosecutor's office of Dobrush District, in the interests of an agricultural enterprise, filed a lawsuit with the court for the recovery of damages caused as a result of livestock deaths in the amount of 10.1 thousand rubles, the information service of the Gomel Regional Prosecutor's Office reports.

According to acts on animal disposal compiled by veterinary doctors, the death of animals occurred as a result of violations in their feeding, treatment, and maintenance technology. Main causes: rotten feed, sudden change of food type, insufficient nutrients, violations in watering young stock. When diseases were present, officials did not react to decreased appetite, growth retardation, exhaustion, rumen bloat, and other symptoms.

Additionally, due to inadequate supervision by workers at night, a bull died from asphyxiation.

According to job descriptions and work instructions, brigade leaders, livestock handlers, veterinarians, and night watchmen were responsible for the safety of entrusted cattle. Brigade leaders monitored the performance of work by brigade members, while livestock handlers fed and watered the cattle. The duties of the night shift worker and night watchman included caring for the herd and assisting animals. The farm's veterinary doctors were obligated to provide quality treatment and monitor compliance with veterinary-sanitary and zoohygienic rules in feeding, as well as rules for cattle care.

Thus, as a result of improper performance of official duties by officials, livestock deaths occurred. Along with them, the executive director of the enterprise, the chief zootechnician, and the farm manager were brought in as co-defendants.

For reference. According to Article 400 of the Labor Code of the Republic of Belarus, an employee may be held materially liable when the following conditions are simultaneously present: damages caused to the employer in the performance of labor duties, unlawful behavior (action or inaction) of the employee; direct causal connection between the employee's unlawful behavior and the employer's damages; fault of the employee in causing the damages.

The guilty parties did not voluntarily compensate the damages caused to the enterprise.

The court upheld the claims of the prosecutor of Dobrush District and recovered from the defendants in full the amount of damages caused by the livestock deaths.

The court decision has taken effect.
