At OAO “Nova Niva,” the largest agricultural enterprise in the Lelychitsy district, known for its livestock and crop production, Lyudmila Lipskaya has been driving for three years.

“I used to work long hours on a minibus, then left for the farm,” smiles Lyudmila Nikolaevna, who is on the road every day from 7 a.m. “I drive people in the morning, pick them up in the evening, deliver lunches to the fields, and handle many additional tasks. Victory, Liplyany, Lelychitsy, Chemerne, Dubrova, the pig complex – each time 250–300 km. I work with pleasure, never get tired, the day literally flies. Ten to twelve hours on the road in total, and I still want more! I’m also interested in the combine, I just need to pass the exam for that category. Ten more years until retirement, so everything is ahead of me!”

With her bubbling energy, Lyudmila Lipskaya manages almost everywhere. She has a large family: husband Ivan Ivanovich – also a professional driver, three children. Son Igor and daughter Anastasia have already given the parents four grandchildren. The youngest son, 18‑year‑old Vanya, studies in Gomel at the Trade and Economic College. And they all are also confidently behind the wheel. Vanya, while on summer vacation, helped his mother in the field.

“Bicycle – that’s the only thing I don’t manage to do,” laughs Lyudmila Nikolaevna. “I bought one – it’s worth it, my hands just can’t reach it. Son Igor, he’s a humorist, teases: ‘You should buy one, the mileage is zero!’ The children also want big families, they promised me at least another granddaughter!”

In the Khoynik district, the “Euroopt” team congratulated two wonderful women on the completion of a big harvest.

“Real workers, determined, hardworking!” warmly comments the chairman of the district council of trade unions of the agro‑industrial complex Svetlana Marchenko. “They are ready to work 24/7, without days off and passes. Elena Volkova – the only woman tractor driver in the district, Snezhana Koldeda – driver at the KSUP “Strilechevo.” Wonderful workers, mothers, housewives!

Snezhana Nikolaevna came to help the farm a little over two years ago, when a driver was urgently needed. Transporting employees, lunches for the machine operators, going for spare parts, fuel – there were always plenty of assignments, and for any of them Snezhana Koldeda immediately speeds off in her “Gazelle.”

“Seventeen years behind the wheel, and I don’t see any difficulties in this job,” notes Snezhana Nikolaevna. “On the contrary, I really like it: every day something new, in the know of all news, people around. I would like to train as a tractor driver, I’m looking for options…”

The work shift is 12 hours, but that doesn't end the chores for Snezhana Koldy. She and her husband Alexander Demyanovich, who works as a mechanic at the KSUP, run a large farm – goats, rabbits, pigs, chickens, ducks. Add to that a garden, a vegetable plot, a flower bed. And also four cats and three dogs, a poodle and mutts. There's plenty to worry about!

– Consider us fully self‑sufficient in terms of food security, – says Snezhana Nikolaevna. – We don't get used to it; we've been accustomed to it since childhood. We have piled up five tons of potatoes – for ourselves, for our parents, and for our sister. Personal farming is my relaxation. And my greatest joy is my daughter, third‑grade student Stefania. The school year has just begun, and she has already earned her first eights in Russian and math…
