In the Lidsky District, veterans of labor continue to be honored. These are people who devoted many years of their lives to work at enterprises and organizations, making an invaluable contribution to the development of Lidskaya. Recently, one of these heroes became Maria Kurennaya, whose career was closely linked to the JSC “Nemant Glassworks”.

Maria Nikolaevna was born in the village of Zamoshany, Gomel Region. In a large and close‑knit family, the foundations of her character were laid: diligence, responsibility, and sincere love for people. These qualities became her guiding star when, in August 1975, she first crossed the threshold of the Nemant Glassworks. The enterprise, which became her second home, received 37 years of her life.

Maria Kurennaya began as a third‑class grinder. But thanks to perseverance and skill she rose to a senior specialist, sixth class, and then headed a crew. She was not just a production pioneer and a regular winner of competitions; she was the soul of the team. For her high professionalism, conscientious fulfillment of work duties, and personal contribution to the implementation of socio‑economic development programs, the resident of Berezovka was honored with high awards: the Order of Labor Glory, third degree, and the title “Hammer of Communist Labor”.

For her personal contribution to the development of the glass industry in the Lida district, her active public activities, and on the occasion of her jubilee, Dmitry Yanovich awarded Maria Kurennaya an Honorary Certificate of the Lida District Executive Committee.

For many years of conscientious work, professionalism in preserving the traditions of glass art, and for promoting OJSC “Nemant” Glassworks and the city of Berezovka both within Belarus and abroad, Valery Evodik presented Maria Nikolaevna with a thank‑you from the Berezovka City Executive Committee. The director of OJSC “Nemant” Glassworks, Sergey Lapitsky, and the chairman of the plant’s trade union committee, Svetlana Tolochko, also congratulated the jubilee celebrant and thanked her for her many years of work at the factory.

– My entire working life was spent in one place. I started as a grinder, then for a long time I was a team leader. To be honest, I loved my work with all my heart and went to shift like it was a celebration. I liked everything absolutely: the production process, our friendly team, and the management, – says Maria Nikolaevna. – Now my rhythm of life has changed: I devote all my time to home, grandchildren, and the dacha. Do I miss work? Of course I miss it. But I'm not that age anymore; it's time to rest. I remember the past years only with warmth. I still keep in touch with many colleagues. We were in the same team, like family. After so many years, I smile and note that every morning I used to rush to the factory with joy.
