Traditionally on the last Sunday of September in Belarus Machine Builder's Day is celebrated. This is a holiday for more than 140 thousand people — exactly that many people work in the industry. In our country there operate hundreds of enterprises that produce cars and auto components, agricultural machinery, road and sanitary equipment. And even in difficult geo-economic conditions machine builders show worthy results. New sales markets are being mastered, comprehensive modernization is carried out. Belarusian machine building production — this is already a brand with world fame. Our technology works almost on all continents.

The driving force of the economy

From cars and components to the heaviest construction cranes in the world. Today Belarus is rightly considered a machine-building country. We not only meet the needs of the domestic market for quality and reliable technology, but also successfully export it. What can be said? A small country by area occupies 8 percent of global tractor production and ranks in the top three countries — manufacturers of heavy construction cranes. And what is important, domestic producers respond to modern market demands. Electric buses and robotic construction equipment are produced on our assembly lines. And today practically every third ruble from the revenue of Belarusian machine-building enterprises comes from selling innovative products.

Over seven months, investments in the Ministry of Industry system grew by more than 22 percent. The basis is high-tech equipment and robotic complexes.

— It is important to emphasize the main point: there is no goal to replace humans with robots in production. The focus is on the robotization of processes. As of the end of 2025, organizations of the system and subsidiaries of the Ministry of Industry holdings used 692 robots. Thus, the robotization density was 52 robots per 10,000 employees. In order to ensure an increase in robotization density to 100 units per 10,000 employees by 2030, the Ministry of Industry holdings and organizations are implementing a Plan of Measures for the introduction of robots and robotic systems at Ministry of Industry enterprises for 2026–2030. Over the first eight months of 2026, organizations of the Ministry of Industry system have introduced 56 robots, — the minister added.

Carving out a niche

In the face of continuous external pressure from the collective West on Belarus and Russia, our countries have bet on industrial cooperation. Joint projects allow us to replace critical imports. This also creates new jobs, tax revenues, and, most importantly, strengthens technological sovereignty.

But we have all heard the recent news that BELAZ and Norilsk Nickel have signed a cooperation agreement, under which they will join forces to develop scientific and technological potential for creating next‑generation mining equipment — next‑generation underground machines, including innovative models powered by environmentally clean energy sources. In recent times, Belarusian machine builders have released a whole range of innovative novelties, already attracting queues of foreign consumers. First and foremost, I would like to mention the 500‑horsepower BELARUS-5425 tractor, created on the basis of domestic components. It will be launched into serial production next year. Another novelty this year is the combined roll‑type press‑picker, manufactured by JSC Bobruyskagromash. The unit is designed for operation in various conditions and is capable of pressing fodder and technical crops. The localization level is about 82 percent. Next year it, too, will be launched into serial production.
