Probably there is no person who has never visited the mailbox at least once in their life, yet many do this regularly. One needs to send or receive postal items, order another subscription for favorite publications, other people come to collect pensions or pay utility bills. In either case, each of us constantly encounters the work of postal workers. Behind the unnoticed but clearly organized labor of postal workers stand everyday newspapers, long-awaited parcels, or strict registered letters. On World Post Day, which is traditionally observed on October 9th, we decided to take a look behind the scenes of the Cherykovsky post office branch and find out how this mechanism works.
Did you know?

From letters to digital services: the daily routine at Boldin, 33
Paper letters in envelopes and postcards today have become more of a pleasant nostalgia, but the significance of the postal service itself has not disappeared. Today post is far from just envelopes with stamps. The modern Cherykovsky post office branch represents a multifunctional center. Here internal and international parcels, express parcels, pensions, utility payments, and much more are processed and accepted. Shipments arrive from all corners of Belarus and the world before being sent to addresses—both within the city and to remote villages in
We have true professionals working for us. Just take a closer look, and it becomes clear how many skills, endurance, and soul are required, for example, by the daily mission of a mail carrier. A postal service specialist, for instance, needs qualities such as perseverance, patience, meticulousness, and — especially — non‑confrontationality, the ability to smooth over negative emotions, since clients and their personalities can be very different. Today, in the era of high‑tech development, they all make a worthy contribution to maintaining the company’s positive image. By the way, the district has one urban post office, seven rural post offices, and one mobile postal unit.
— Working ahead of our customers’ needs is one of the enterprise’s priority areas. Providing services to ensure consumer comfort is our main task, — says Elena Tishkova, a first‑category planning economist at the Mogilev branch of RUP ‘Belpochta’. — What attracts people to the post office today? For many elderly people this is not just a person who brings a pension or a newspaper, but someone with whom you can speak sincerely, share village news or what’s on your mind. The postman will listen and help: right at home, using the hardware‑software complex “Mobile Postman”, he will accept payment for electricity and telephone, arrange a subscription or bring ordered groceries and essential goods. In this simple and necessary work there is no place for indifference — here remain only those who truly love people.
— The main task of the post is to be a reliable connecting link for millions of people. For the post, having a wide range of providing specialized and non‑specialized services, is a means of communication which, despite all the achievements of technical progress, remains in demand among the country’s residents, including our district, and continues to remain mass
