The measures being taken to accelerate and facilitate border crossing were discussed by Vladimir Orlovsky, Chairman of the State Customs Committee (SCC), on the Belarus 1 TV channel, as reported by Belta.

There is a certain restriction on cargo flows at the border with neighboring countries. First and foremost, this harms citizens crossing the border and those in transit through Belarus. We are living in these realities and are looking at what we can do on our part to speed up and facilitate the border crossing process. Of course, the irregular work of neighboring control agencies leads to the formation of queues, said Vladimir Orlovsky.

The head of the SCC emphasized that the department's top priority is to create comfortable conditions for waiting before crossing the border. Thus, in Belarus, waiting areas near border crossing points are being actively equipped, and it is now possible to register in an electronic queue before arriving at the border and arrive at a convenient time.

Vladimir Orlovsky noted that in 2026, remote registration in an electronic queue was introduced. We plan to make this registration even more convenient. By the end of 2026, we will develop a software product - a mobile application - that will allow registration in the queue directly from a phone. This will work for both passenger and cargo traffic, he said.
