Specific parameters of the changes will be determined after further consideration of the bill.

The National Legal Internet Portal has published a draft of amendments to Belarus's Tax Code, reports myfin.by.

The document proposes indexing tax rates and certain fixed amounts in Belarusian rubles.

The adjustments affect the tax burden of both individuals and business entities.

When indexing, they traditionally take into account the dynamics of consumer prices, nominal accrued wages, and the cost of construction and installation work.

The changes may, in particular, affect the minimum amount of tax on professional income, transport tax, tax on the first apartment, etc.

Furthermore, it is proposed to review the indicator of the calculated cost per square meter used when determining property tax.

Specific parameters of the changes will be determined after further consideration of the bill.

Regarding the changes

Earlier, Belarus Finance Minister Vladislav Tatarynovich spoke about changes to our country's tax system in 2027, emphasizing that they will not be radical.

According to him, the procedure for calculating and paying certain taxes is being clarified pointwise – taking into account application practice, so that the mechanism becomes clear, understandable, and transparent.

Also, it will become easier to confirm the zero VAT rate when providing export transportation services – it will be linked to the approach that exists in accounting.

They want to shift the deadline for submitting the annual personal income tax declaration from March 31 to April 30, and move the tax payment deadline to August 1.

When will the updated Tax Code appear?

According to established practice and Belarusian legislation, the Tax Code is traditionally amended annually, and the law itself is signed in the very last days of the outgoing year.

The bill is being prepared by the Ministry of Finance together with the Ministry of Taxes and Dues and other agencies.

The document must pass two readings in the House of Representatives and also obtain approval from the Council of the Republic. The final stage is signing by the president.
