Cybersecurity is no longer just a part of the IT industry, but a matter of state policy priority. That is why specialist training in this field is reaching a new level. Proof of this is the educational and scientific laboratory at BSU. It is the first educational platform of its kind in Belarus.

The laboratory will allow students to work with real cyber solutions and understand the architecture of modern threats.

The laboratory is equipped with 12 state-of-the-art workstations. High-power computers, licensed software, and a teaching and learning complex. Students can work both on stationary machines and on their own devices. Everything is designed to make the learning process as close as possible to real work.

Artem Rundygin, a student at BSU's Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies:

"The first thing the opening of this laboratory gives us is the opportunity to interact with leading cybersecurity service providers. We will also be able to work with hardware and software systems related to our specialty. The opening of the laboratory will help us gain practical skills that will help us integrate into the workforce later. For example, right now I am doing basic firewall configuration."

Vladislav Matyrkin, a student at BSU's Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies, noted that the classroom is excellently equipped technically. In his opinion, modern equipment helps students in practical classes and provides valuable skills for their future profession.

Yuri Vorotnitsky, head of the Department of Telecommunications and Information Technologies at BSU's Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies:

"We consider this very important, because working in such a laboratory with real hardware and software-hardware information security tools will allow our graduates to enter the profession more quickly at workplaces of enterprises of the Republic of Belarus, in specialized information security units, and in the cybersecurity and cyber incident response centers currently being opened in the country."

Intellect, quick reaction, and the ability to stay one step ahead — today the bet is placed on exactly such specialists. Over more than 20 years, BSU has trained about 1,500 graduates with the "cyber" prefix. The new laboratory is an opportunity to train personnel at the level that the times demand.

The laboratory has been opened at the Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technologies. It is the first educational platform in Belarus created jointly with a Russian developer of information security solutions. The event was timed to coincide with the faculty's fiftieth anniversary — and perhaps this is the best gift that could have been given to its students.

As a result, we get a cyber formula: BSU not only strengthens its scientific and educational base, but also responds to the state's demand for training qualified personnel for the information security sphere. The laboratory will become a platform where theory meets practice, and students gain skills that are in demand already today.
