The Prosecutor's Office of the Grodno Region transferred a criminal case to court against two employees of the regional office of the Transport Inspection branch of the Grodno Region – a 23-year-old specialist and a 38-year-old lead specialist. They are accused of extortion and receiving a bribe in a particularly large amount based on prior collusion (part 3, article 430 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus).

According to the investigation, in March 2026 the suspects decided to make money on the inspection of a commercial enterprise. In April they met with the company's deputy director and demanded money, threatening to overstate the damage to public roads from the passage of heavy and large-sized transport vehicles in the inspection report by two times – from actual 200 thousand to 400 thousand rubles.

As a result of the negotiations, the final amount of illegal remuneration determined by the final inspection was 50 thousand rubles. The monetary funds were transferred in two equal parts of 25 thousand rubles each.

The Investigative Committee of the Grodno Region was in charge of investigating the case. The measure of restraint in the form of detention that was previously imposed on the accused remains unchanged.
