40 million rubles in nine months: how Belarusian business receives state support and what will change in 2027

In Belarus, the number of entrepreneurs applying for state financial support is growing. Over nine months, the Belarusian Entrepreneurship Financial Support Fund directed more than 40 million rubles to these purposes – 2 million more than for the entire previous year. This was reported by the fund’s director, Petr Arushanyanets, in the ‘Closer to Business’ section.

In the list of preferential projects – 44 initiatives

Today in Belarus, 44 investment projects included in the preferential list are being implemented. Their total cost exceeds 2.5 billion rubles.

These are projects implemented by investors in regions, excluding Minsk, without signing a special investment agreement providing benefits and preferences. Such a mechanism allows supporting promising business ideas and stimulating regional development.

The projects cover processing industry, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, wholesale and retail trade, as well as the entertainment and leisure sector. Most of these initiatives are implemented in Brest, Vitebsk and Mogilev regions.

Regions account for a large share of projects

According to Petr Arushanyanets, demand for financial support from small and medium-sized businesses has significantly increased compared to previous periods.

“This year we see that demand for financial support from small and medium-sized businesses is much higher than in previous periods,” said the fund’s director.

Over nine months, the fund provided financial support amounting to more than 40 million rubles. This already exceeds the indicator for the whole previous year.

“In nine months we exceeded last year’s plan, and there are still many projects awaiting financing,” said Petr Arushanyanets.

About 60% of projects are in the regions – excluding Minsk and Minsk district. At the same time, investment initiatives are actively implemented in the capital as well.

Through the regional platform, hundreds of projects have passed

One of the tools for supporting entrepreneurs is the ‘Regional Initiative’ platform. It allows presenting a project, obtaining consultation, and considering possible financing options.

“More than 600 projects have gone through the platform in 2026,” reported Petr Arushanyanets.

According to him, not all projects require large investments or have a complex structure. These can be small initiatives important for a specific city, district, or rural settlement.

"There are many such projects, and all of them have the opportunity to receive financial support," emphasized the head of the fund.

What assistance can entrepreneurs

Thus, state financial support becomes not only a tool for assisting individual enterprises, but also a mechanism for developing the regional economy.
