MogilevNEWS.by 03.09.2026 On September 3, 2026, Belagroprombank celebrates its 35th anniversary. Over this time, technologies, the economy, and client habits have changed, but one feature of the bank has remained unchanged — its close connection with the country's regions. Today Belagroprombank works with enterprises and entrepreneurs, supports the agro-industrial complex, helps develop small businesses, and offers financial solutions for residents of cities and rural areas.
The bank's history began in September 1991. Belagroprombank was established during the formation of Belarus's new banking system and was initially focused primarily on financial services for the agro-industrial complex.
This direction has always been especially important for the regions. Agriculture is connected not only with food production, but also with people's employment, the work of processing enterprises, and the development of rural territories. That is why financing the industry became one of the bank's key tasks from its very first years.
Over 35 years, the country's economy has changed, and Belagroprombank's role has expanded along with it. Today its clients include enterprises from various industries, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, individual entrepreneurs, farms, and the general public.
A bank that works not only in regional centers
The distinctive nature of Belagroprombank's regional work is clearly visible in the numbers. Today the bank's network numbers 252 points of sale in 124 cities across Belarus.
At the same time, a significant share of the bank's corporate clients are enterprises and entrepreneurs operating outside the capital. Thus, regional presence is not a separate line of work for the bank, but part of its everyday operations.
Behind every enterprise or entrepreneur lie specific tasks: purchasing equipment, carrying out seasonal work, building or modernizing a production facility, arranging settlements with partners, expanding production, or launching a new project.
That is why banking services in the regions are not just about a branch working with a client. They are participation in the economic life of the territory.
From the sowing campaign to modern processing
Belagroprombank's connection with the agro-industrial complex continues to this day.
The bank takes part in financing seasonal agricultural work, renewing the machine and tractor fleet, building and modernizing dairy complexes, and developing processing enterprises.
For regions, such projects matter far beyond the enterprise itself. New equipment allows work to be carried out in a timely manner, modernization of production creates additional opportunities for output, and the development of processing contributes to the creation of added value directly in the region.
At the same time, the modern agro-industrial complex is no longer just an agricultural enterprise. It is an entire chain that includes production, storage, processing, logistics, and sales of products. Financial instruments are needed at each of these stages.
Over three and a half decades, Belagroprombank has accumulated significant experience working with the agricultural sector, while simultaneously expanding its client base and areas of activity.
Opportunities for those starting their own business
The regional economy is not only about large enterprises. Small-scale production, individual entrepreneurs, farms, family businesses, and new projects play an important role in it.
Support for small and medium-sized businesses has become one of Belagroprombank's areas of work. Businesses have access to credit products, settlement services, guarantees, acquiring, factoring, and other financial instruments.
A separate area is support for aspiring entrepreneurs. Under the Igrow project, platforms are being developed where startups and small business representatives can not only gain access to the necessary infrastructure but also take part in educational events, receive advisory support, and find business contacts.
Such projects are especially important for regions: entrepreneurial initiative emerges where there are people ready to create new services, production facilities, and jobs.
A bank for residents of large and small cities
Over 35 years, the nature of the bank's relationship with the public has also changed.
Once, most banking operations required a personal visit to a branch. Today, a significant share of everyday tasks is handled remotely — through internet and mobile services, bank cards, contactless and QR payments.
Belagroprombank is developing digital capabilities while maintaining its network of points of sale. This approach allows clients to choose the most convenient format of interaction with the bank themselves: use a digital service or consult a specialist.
For residents of small towns and rural areas, the ability to get advice and resolve a financial matter directly in their own town still matters.
Financial literacy is also part of the job
The bank's work in the regions is not limited to financial services.
Belagroprombank implements projects to improve the financial literacy of children, young people, and the older generation. Bank employees conduct educational sessions, explain the rules for the safe use of banking services, and help clients master modern financial technologies.
Special attention is paid to the older generation. In more than 90 banking service centers, the advisory project "Academy of Care" operates, where specialists help pensioners master modern technologies and introduce them to the basics of financial and digital security.
Such initiatives are especially important for regions where the bank is not only a provider of financial services but also a permanent participant in the life of the local community.
From the first card to digital services
Over 35 years, not only the scale of the bank's work has changed, but also the ways of interacting with clients.
In the 1990s, the bank introduced computer technologies in its branches. In 1996, Belagroprombank became a participant in the Belcard interbank settlement system and issued the first Belcard client card in Soligorsk.
Later, international bank cards, internet banking, a mobile app, and remote services appeared.
Today, a client can perform many operations using a smartphone, use QR payments and other digital solutions. In 2026, Belagroprombank became a participant in the commercial operation of the national payment service "KROK".
It turns out that behind the story of the bank's technological development there is a very concrete change for people: many financial matters that previously required a trip to the bank can now be resolved remotely.
Traditions remain, opportunities change
The regions of Belarus have different economic profiles. In some places, the basis of the economy is agriculture; in others, industry, processing, trade, services, or entrepreneurship.
Over 35 years, Belagroprombank has gone from a bank closely tied to the agro-industrial complex to a universal financial institution. But the connection with its original specialization has been preserved — today the bank continues to support the agricultural sector while also working with enterprises from other industries, entrepreneurs, and the population.
This is one of the features of the anniversary story: the bank changed along with the economy, while maintaining a constant presence where people create products, develop businesses, build families, and implement new projects.
35 years of Belagroprombank is not just the history of a financial institution. It is 35 years of working with people and enterprises that live and work throughout Belarus. And today this story continues — in new projects, modern technologies, and the bank's daily work in the country's cities and rural areas.
