On September 3, 2026, Belagroprombank celebrates its 35th anniversary. Over this time, technologies, the economy, and customer habits have changed, but one of the bank's distinctive features has remained unchanged — its close connection with the country's regions. Today, Belagroprombank works with enterprises and entrepreneurs, supports the agro-industrial complex, helps develop small business, and offers financial solutions for residents of cities and rural areas.

The bank's history began in September 1991. Belagroprombank was established during the period when Belarus's new banking system was taking shape, and initially it was focused primarily on financial services for the agro-industrial complex. For the regions, this area has always held particular importance. Agriculture is connected not only with food production, but also with employment, the operation of processing enterprises, and the development of rural areas. That is why financing the industry became one of the bank's key tasks from its very first years. Over 35 years, the country's economy has changed, and along with it, the role of Belagroprombank has expanded. Today, its clients include enterprises from various industries, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, individual entrepreneurs, farms, and the general public.

A Bank That Operates Not Only in Regional Centers

The distinctive nature of Belagroprombank's regional work is clearly visible in the numbers. Today, the bank's network includes 252 points of sale in 124 cities of Belarus. At the same time, a significant share of the bank's corporate clients are enterprises and entrepreneurs operating outside the capital. Thus, regional presence for the bank is not a separate line of business, but part of its daily work. Behind every enterprise or entrepreneur stand specific tasks: purchasing equipment, carrying out seasonal work, building or modernizing a production facility, arranging settlements with partners, expanding production, or launching a new project. That is why banking services in the regions is not only about the work of a branch with a client. It is participation in the economic activity of the territory.

From Sowing Campaign to Modern Processing

Belagroprombank's connection with the agro-industrial complex remains strong today. The bank participates in financing seasonal agricultural work, the renewal of the machine and tractor fleet, the construction and modernization of dairy complexes, and the development of processing enterprises.

For regions, such projects matter far beyond the enterprise itself. New equipment makes it possible to carry out work on time, production modernization creates additional opportunities for output, and the development of processing helps generate additional value directly within the region. At the same time, a modern agro-industrial complex is no longer just an agricultural enterprise. It is an entire sequence encompassing the production, storage, processing, logistics, and sale of products. Financial instruments are needed at every one of these stages. Over three and a half decades, Belagroprombank has accumulated significant experience working with the agrarian sector while simultaneously expanding its client base and areas of activity.

Opportunities for those starting their own business

A regional economy is not only about large enterprises. Small-scale production, individual entrepreneurs, farms, family businesses, and new projects play an important role in it.

Support for small and medium-sized entrepreneurship has become one of Belagroprombank's areas of work. Credit products, settlement services, guarantees, acquiring, factoring, and other financial instruments are available to businesses.

A separate area is support for beginning entrepreneurs. Within the framework of the Igrow project, platforms are being developed where startups and small business representatives can not only gain access to the necessary infrastructure but also take part in educational events, receive advisory support, and find business contacts. For regions, such projects are especially important: entrepreneurial initiative emerges where there are people ready to create new services, production facilities, and jobs.

A bank for residents of big and small cities

Over 35 years, the nature of the bank's relationship with the population has also changed. Once, the majority of banking transactions required an in-person visit to a branch. Today, a significant portion of everyday tasks is handled remotely – through online and mobile services, bank cards, contactless and QR payments. Belagroprombank is developing its digital capabilities while maintaining its network of points of sale. This approach allows the client to choose the convenient format of interacting with the bank: use a digital service or contact a specialist. For residents of small towns and rural areas, the opportunity to receive advice and resolve a financial matter directly in their own city still matters.

Financial Literacy Is Also Part of the Work

The bank's operations in the regions are not limited to financial services.

Belagroprombank implements projects aimed at improving financial literacy among children, young people, and the older generation. Bank employees conduct educational classes, talk about the rules for the safe use of banking services, and help clients master modern financial technologies.

Special attention is given to the older generation. The advisory project "Academy of Care" operates in more than 90 banking service centers, where specialists help pensioners master modern technologies and introduce them to the basics of financial and digital security.

Such initiatives are especially important for the regions, where the bank serves not only as a provider of financial services but also as one of the permanent participants in the life of the local community.

From the First Card to Digital Services

Over 35 years, not only the scale of the bank's operations has changed, but also the ways of interacting with clients.

In the 1990s, the bank introduced computer technologies in its divisions. In 1996, Belagroprombank became a participant in the Belkart interbank settlement system and issued the first client Belkart card in Soligorsk.

Later, international bank cards, internet banking, a mobile application, and remote services appeared.

Today, a client can perform many transactions using a smartphone, use QR payments, and other digital solutions. In 2026, Belagroprombank became a participant in the industrial use of the national payment service "KROK." It turns out that behind the story of the bank's technological development lies a very concrete change for the individual: many financial issues that previously required a trip to the bank can now be resolved remotely.

Traditions Remain, Opportunities Change

The regions of Belarus have different economic profiles. In some places, the economy is based on agriculture, in others – on industry, processing, trade, services, or entrepreneurship.

Over 35 years, Belagroprombank has come a long way from a bank closely tied to the agro-industrial complex to a universal financial institution. But the connection with its original specialization has been preserved – today the bank continues to support the agricultural sector while simultaneously working with enterprises in other sectors, entrepreneurs, and the public.

This is precisely one of the distinctive features of the anniversary story: the bank has evolved alongside the economy, while maintaining a constant presence wherever people manufacture products, grow businesses, build families, and bring new projects to life.

The 35 years of Belagroprombank is more than just the story of a financial institution. It is 35 years of working with people and enterprises that live and operate across Belarus. And today, this story continues — in new projects, modern technologies, and the bank's daily work in the country's cities and rural areas.
